War Canoe - Ben must overcome the pressures from the camp bully if he wants to enter the big canoe race, but when an accident sidelines his teammate, an unlikly pairing arises and might just prove to be victorious in more ways than one.

Rowdy: Wild and Mean, Sharp and Keen  is Chris' big debut. What began as an end of the day story for his kindergarten class slowly developed into a Western novel full of danger, adventure, and a young man's journey to find out what he is truly made of...

An orphaned boy’s fight for survival sends him down the mighty Mississippi and across the old west where life and death decisions force him to stand for what is right, regardless of the cost. Battles with river pirates, renegade Indians, a pack of hungry wolves, and the iniquitous Patrick Byrne keep Rowdy fighting for survival in the unforgiving wilds of the early West.

Chris is currently working on the next adventure in the Rowdy series with plans for Sci-Fi,  Teen Romance, and Murder Mystery novels in the works as well. We can't wait to see what imaginative tale he spins next!

In Children's Literature, Chris dives into the realm of summer camp with The Swim Test. Inspired by  his own camp experiences in northern Minnesota, Chris tells a tale of a young boy's overconfidence, bellyflopping into a test of determination. Written in rhyme, this lyrical lesson of perseverance and humility will entertain as well as embrace real-world issues that children face, not only at summer camp, but in their everyday lives.

Chris writes for the very young as well, telling a story about a girl and her love for rollie pollies inThe Rollie Pollie Garden. Her inquisitive nature and innocent love of these small, ticklish creatures helps her explore responsibility, loss, wonderment, and fear.

Chris has a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University with a focus on Early Childhood Education. He is a 2019 Connie Wootton Excellence in Teaching Award recipient for Early Childhood Education through the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools. Chris is currently a PreK teacher with 23 years in the classroom and loves to create new stories with his students. Whether you are four years old or forty-five, an imagination is what you make it, so think BIG!
